By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the MoodHaven mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

MoodHaven is a specialized mental health tracking application designed to help caregivers monitor and document mood patterns, behavioral episodes, medication adherence, and related health information for individuals under their care.

2. Description of Service

Core Features


  • Mood Tracking: Log daily mood entries with intensity ratings, notes, and triggers

  • Episode Documentation: Record behavioral episodes including violence, panic attacks, meltdowns, self-harm, aggression, withdrawal, hyperactivity, confusion, and other episodes

  • Voice-to-Text Notes: Convert speech to text for quick documentation during stressful situations

  • Media Attachments: Attach photos and images to provide visual context for healthcare professionals

  • Medication Management: Track medication schedules and adherence (Pro feature)

  • Team Collaboration: Share access with healthcare providers and family members (Pro feature)

  • Weather Correlation: Track environmental factors that may affect mood and behavior (Pro feature)

  • Analytics & Insights: Generate reports and statistics for healthcare analysis

  • Live Activities: Real-time tracking of ongoing episodes with iOS Live Activities

Subscription Tiers


  • Free Tier: Basic mood tracking and episode documentation

  • Pro Subscription: Advanced features including medication tracking, team accounts, multiple child profiles, weather tracking, custom event types, and custom app icons

3. User Accounts & Authentication

Account Creation


  • MoodHaven uses Clerk authentication services for secure account management

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account

User Types


  • Individual Users: Track data for themselves or individuals under their care

  • Team Members: Collaborate with other caregivers and healthcare providers

  • Team Administrators: Manage team permissions and member access

4. Privacy & Data Collection

Data We Collect


  • Account Information: Name, email address, authentication data

  • Health Data: Mood entries, behavioral episodes, medication information, sleep patterns

  • Location Data: Approximate location for weather correlation (with explicit consent)

  • Voice Recordings: Temporarily processed for speech-to-text conversion, then deleted

  • Photos: Images attached to episode documentation

  • Usage Analytics: App usage patterns and performance data (anonymized)

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, crash reports

  • Provide core app functionality and features

  • Generate insights and analytics for healthcare analysis

  • Sync data across devices and team members

  • Improve app performance and user experience

  • Family Sharing supported through Apple's App Store

Subscription Features

Payment and Billing


  • Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store

  • Payment charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period

  • Account charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period

Cancellation


  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period

  • No refunds for partial periods

  • Free tier access continues after cancellation

6. Health Information Disclaimer

Not Medical Advice


  • MoodHaven is a tracking and documentation tool, not a medical device

  • Information provided by the App is for informational purposes only

  • The App is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition

  • Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals for medical advice

Emergency Situations


  • MoodHaven is not intended for emergency situations

  • In case of medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately

  • The App should supplement, not replace, professional medical care

7. User Responsibilities

Appropriate Use


  • Use the App only for its intended purpose of health tracking and documentation

  • Provide accurate and truthful information

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of individuals whose data you track

  • Obtain appropriate consent before tracking another person's health information

Team Collaboration


  • Team administrators are responsible for managing appropriate access permissions

  • Only invite trusted healthcare providers and caregivers to your team

  • Respect team member privacy and access limitations

Prohibited Activities


  • Do not share account credentials with unauthorized individuals

  • Do not attempt to access other users' data without permission

  • Do not use the App for any illegal or harmful purposes

  • Do not interfere with the App's security features

8. Data Security & Retention

  • Data encrypted in transit and at rest

  • Secure authentication through industry-standard protocols

  • Regular security audits and monitoring

  • Access controls and user permission management

Data Retention


  • Account data retained while your account is active

  • Data permanently deleted upon account deletion request

  • Anonymized analytics data may be retained for service improvement

  • You may export your data at any time through the App

Data Breach Response


  • We maintain incident response procedures

  • Users notified of significant data breaches as required by law

  • Affected systems secured and vulnerabilities addressed promptly

9. Intellectual Property

MoodHaven Content


  • The App, including its design, functionality, and content, is owned by MoodHaven

  • Protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws

  • Users granted limited license to use the App for personal purposes only

User Content


  • You retain ownership of health data and content you create

  • You grant MoodHaven license to process your data as necessary to provide the service

  • You may delete your content at any time

10. Limitation of Liability

Service Availability


  • We strive for reliable service but cannot guarantee 100% uptime

  • Scheduled maintenance may temporarily interrupt service

  • No liability for data loss due to technical issues beyond our control

Damages


  • MoodHaven's liability limited to the subscription fees paid in the last 12 months

  • No liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Some jurisdictions may not allow these limitations

11. Termination

By User


  • You may delete your account at any time through the App settings

  • All data permanently deleted upon account termination

  • Subscription cancellation follows Apple App Store policies

  • We may terminate accounts for Terms violations

  • Notice provided when reasonably possible

  • Data deletion follows our standard retention policies

12. Legal Compliance

  • Disputes resolved through binding arbitration

Regulatory Compliance


  • COPPA compliance for users under 13 (with parental consent)
